Holiday Baskets help Baltimore families celebrate the season

4th Annual Truancy Court Program Holiday Basket Drive A Project of School of Law

Every child deserves a holiday meal

The University of Baltimore School of Law Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts operates its Truancy Court Program (TCP) in some of Baltimore's most underserved neighborhoods. Working with their schools to re-engage students, the TCP identifies and addresses reasons why students are missing school, including violence, poverty, poor health, drug addiction, grief, homelessness, and unemployment, to name a few.

As the holiday season approaches, your donation will help us provide gift baskets to as many of our TCP students and families as possible. Many of our families do not have the resources to buy traditional food or presents during the winter holidays. For many families, the baskets are the difference between holiday festivities and no celebration at all.

CFCC seeks donations to fill holiday baskets, which will be distributed to families on one of the last days of school before winter break. Last year, CFCC gave 30 food baskets as a result of our community's generosity! With your help, we hope to exceed that number this year. Each basket costs about $60 and includes holiday food, winter clothing, toys, and games. CFCC may also use funds to purchase school uniforms, school supplies, and incentives for the TCP students.

Thank you for helping to give a holiday celebration to Baltimore City students and families during this season!
